Welcome to Santopalooza, the spot to learn about all of your standard-issue Catholic saints and how to identify them in art. It’s a place where you can find out which guy was crucified upside down and who that lady is who carries her eyeballs around on a plate. The idea is learn some vaguely interesting stuff and be amused.
I am an art historian who specializes in Renaissance art and I have been teaching at universities in central Texas for 18 years. I’ll be adding saints over time, so check back in if you want to stay updated.
